Eivor fighting Fenrir

Fenrir is a legendary, mighty wolf in Norse mythology.

Influence

Due to the beast's legendary nature, Vikings like Dag were known to curse oaths revolving around Fenrir.[1]

In the 9th century, Viking children played a game of hide-and-hunt, in which others hid while one, pretending to be Fenrir, "hunted" them. While visiting East Anglia, Eivor joined one group of children in their game and won due to their superior hiding skills.[2]

Later, Eivor consumed a mixture prepared by Ravensthorpe's resident oracle Valka, which sent them on a hallucinogenic vision where they "explored" mythical realms of the Norse cosmology. During their journey, they came across the great wolf in a cave and fought it.[3]
