- "My father taught me every intricate detail of the Assassin heritage. While my brother was off wasting time in the streets, I honed my skills. If we’re to take this city, it will be by my blade."
- ―Evie Frye.
Evie Frye (1847 – unknown) was a Master Assassin[1] of the British Brotherhood active in London during the Victorian era, and the elder twin sister of Jacob Frye.
Originating from Crawley, Evie and her brother moved to London to overthrow the oppressive Templar-led establishment and help the poverty-stricken masses.[2]
Alongside Jacob, Evie led the Rooks, a criminal syndicate opposing the Templars. Unlike her reckless and rebellious brother, she was a level-headed individual and a master of stealth.[2]
Equipment and skills
- "If none can match my skill, it is only because I’ve out-planned and out-smarted the rest."
- ―Evie Frye.
A Master Assassin proficient with the Hidden Blade, Evie was able to assassinate her targets skillfully and stealthily. She excelled at masking her presence, to such an extent that guards were unable to notice her as long as she remained still.[3]
As the carrying of weapons openly was forbidden at the time, she relied on an arsenal of hidden tools, which included a cane-sword and throwing knives.[1] Evie was especially proficient with the last of these, being able to hit targets at a greater range than her brother.[3] Another tool in Evie's arsenal was the "Voltaic Bomb", a stun grenade of sorts that would explode into electrified shrapnel.[4]
She was also a skilled freerunner and possessed the rare ability of Eagle Vision.[3]
Trivia
- Evie's name is of biblical origin, being an alternate form of Eve, which means life. Frye is a derivative of the English word free.
- Evie is the first playable female character in one of the Assassin's Creed franchise's main entries and the third playable female character in the franchise as a whole, having been preceded by Aveline de Grandpré and Shao Jun.
