Dunseverick was a fortress situated in the northernmost coast of what is now County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
History
During the medieval period, Dunseverick was part of the Kingdom of Ulster. In 881, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan was told by Azar and Sichfrith, the King of Dublin, to find the Child of Danu member, "The Seed." Leaving, Eivor garnered a clue from Azar and it led her to Movilla Abbey.[1] After finding a clue there, Eivor shifted her aim to "The Deer", Ruaidrí, in Inch Lough Neagh, assassinated him, and garnered the last clue. The clue was from The Seed, who stated that he commanded his people at Dunseverick fortress. From the clues, Eivor deduced his identity to be Lord Bécc mac Nath-í.[2]
Traveling to Dunseverick, Eivor sought out to find The Seed within his fortress. Guarded by his men, Eivor found the Child of Danu and assassinated him. From The Seed's personal effects, Eivor claimed a clue, which revealed the Ollamh Druid identity to be the Abbot Eogan mac Cartaigh. Learning the truth, Eivor left the fortress to meet with High King Flann Sinna about her discovery.[1]
From her investigation at Dunseverick, Eivor found a chest and claimed a tungsten ingot, under a red tent within the fortress. Eivor also found a Book of Knowledge underneath the fortress' grounds and learned the ability, "Vikingr Salute."[3]
