Duncan Walpole (1679 – 1715) was a member of the Assassin Order stationed in the Caribbean during the early 18th century who attempted to defect to the Templars.[1]
In June of 1715, Walpole assaulted a pirate ship in the middle of a storm. Boarding the ship, he assassinated the captain, but was thrown overboard by an explosion. Shipwrecked on an uncharted island, Walpole attempted to enlist the aid of the pirate Edward Kenway to help him reach Havana. Kenway refused, even with the promise of pay, as Walpole lacked the money. He then attempted to threaten Kenway, only to find his pistol failing to work. Kenway then chased Walpole through the jungle, before eventually killing him. After his death, Edward donned Duncan's Assassin robes, and made several modifications to them later on.[2]
