The Turks were a force to be reckoned with many centuries before the forming of the Ottoman Empire. Their armies and generals were a formidable enemy of the Abbasid Caliphate and they were hell-bent on destablizing them at any cost. This kind of volatility made the Turks a liability to the Hidden Ones; sometimes putting them squarely in opposition.
