A sacred site since Neolithic times, the Hill of Tara was, according to Irish mythology, the dwelling place of the Tuatha Dé Danann. These gods brought the Lia Fáil, a stone said to "sing" when touched by the rightful king, which doesn't sound plausible at all. In any case, the Hill of Tara is where High Kings were traditionally inaugurated.
