Cú Chulainn was an Irish mythological hero who appears in the stories of the Ulster Cycle, as well as in Scottish and Manx mythology.[1]
Influence
During the 9th century, Flann Sinna tried to find the tomb of Niall of the Nine Hostages, a descendent of Chulainn's foster son, in order to obtain Chulainn's shield. Unsuccessful, he mentioned his dream to Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, who found Niall's resting site and claimed the shield.[2]
