Aeld Wyrm

The Aeld Wyrm was a hill figure in southern Cent, England.

History

In the 870s, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan ventured within the shire of Kent and caught sight of the Aeld Wyrm, below Beamasfield.[1] The Aeld Wyrm's snake figure was probably an offering to some God, but to this day, its meaning is now lost.[2]
