"After, when the world became undone, we tried to pass it through the blood. Tried to join you to us. You see the blue shimmer. You hear the words. But you do not know." ---Juno
Adam was born in the final years of The First Civilization.
Juno's soliloquy at the end of Brotherhood confirms that Adam and his descendants are the half-human, hybrid creations of Those Who Came Before. The hybridization project was enacted in the later years of the First Civilization as an attempt to preserve the DNA of Those Who Came Before.
It is revealed that Adam and Eve, among other humans, were kept as slave labor under the control of Those Who Came Before. Adam and another human named Eve rebelled against the First Civilization by stealing a piece of Eden. The act of defiance against the First Civilization could be the first act of the Assassin line to protect and defend the use of free will.
Adam's DNA line continued through the Assassins Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, Ezio Auditore da Firenze and Desmond Miles. This means the aforementioned are direct descendents of Adam, and by extention, Those Who Came Before.
