Bombastus (left) and Giovanni Borgia (right).

Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim (11 November or 17 December 1493 in Einsiedeln – 24 September 1541 in Salzburg) was a Renaissance physician, botanist, alchemist, astrologer, and general occultist.[1]

He was an acquintance of the Assassin Order, if not a member of the Order himself. In 1520, he was visited by Giovanni Borgia, who had just returned from México. He brought Bombastus one of the Crystal Skulls to study. They couldn't find out how the artifact worked, until Bombastus brought it together with a certain book. Borgia was revelated with symbols and wrote these down, forming a formula for the Philosopher's stone.[2]
