You're thinking what I'm thinking - 100% agree with you. I think the series is getting a lot more blurred about the good/bad aspect of Assassins good v bad Templars (which is great) but I feel the ACIV has to be the peak of this 'detachment' from the Order. I loved ACIV as a pirate game, but Edward's inolvement with the Assassins always felt like an afterthought, in fact it doesn't really happen until the end.

I am expecting this increased uncertainty over who is on the 'right' side of the confict to continue but I hope the next Assassin in ACV is a devotee to the Order. Maybe his faith gets shaked at the end and he edges towards the Templars or neutrality as part of the "you've wasted time needlessly fighting over that which we left behind" [really not the direct quote but whatever the criticism was from Minerva or Juno].

You would get the sense from ACIII and IV that as time moved on people got more and more desensitised to the Assassins in general, but we see in modern day the faith to the Order is still strong, in the Farm for example. Bring on a true Assassin!
