2. I do feel the story arc felt a bit unnatural.

3. Well, looking back, if we were to remove the modern day aspects, those stories would have had to be reritten. I think Desmond had some moments, but overall was a bland character.

4. I don't know. Having the First-Civ involved raises the stakes and, in my opinion, limits the longevity of the plot. There's nothing wrong with that, but I think the story has gone on to far. It feels... padded.

5. Agreed. I don't care for them myself, but if they were well executed, I wouldn't mind.
