The Shade of Blight was a naginata that Yasuke obtained in 1582. That year, Yasuke and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe were tasked with eliminating the Kurai Eikyou, a group of criminals that were terrorizing the population of Yamato.[1] The pair tracked down "The Messenger", a monk responsible for delivering the instructions to all of the other members of his collective, killed him and took the weapon from his personal effects.[2]
