It is not common for us to call that state Arabia nowadays, but this is the term Dynasty uses & I think it was correct for the Umayyad period since their policies were Arabian ethnonationalist. / I also wanted to make sure to include "caliphate" somewhere b/c that is an important concept behind this event. |

The Abbasid Revolution was the rebellion in 750 which overthrew Umayyad dynastic rule of the Arabian empire, inaugurating the Abbasid Caliphate.[1]
The survivors of the revolution, including Umayyad prince Abd al-Rahman I, were driven west and established themselves in the Iberian Peninsula, founding the Emirate of Córdoba.[2]
