During the Peloponnesian War, the Proto-Templar group Cult of the Kosmos controlled much of the Greek World. Led by Athenian politician Aspasia under the moniker the Ghost of Kosmos, the cult worshipped the being Kosmos and sought to bring chaos to the Greek world. However, the Isu-hybrid Deimos soon joined and rose to power in the cult, causing Aspasia to lose her influence.

In Ancient Egypt, the Order of the Ancients sought power over the country, by both controlling Egypt's pharoahs, while also seeking an Isu artifacts from a vault beneath Siwa. After the death of Egypt's boy pharoah Ptolemy XIII, the Order turned to control the newly arrived the Roman dictator Julius Caesar, who soon became the leader and figurehead of the Order.

As the Order of the Ancients plagued the lands of England, King Alfred the Great eventually became their leader. Disagreeing with his own faction, Alfred tried to eliminate the Order, though was preoccupied with the invading Vikings. Alfred soon managed to manipulate the Vikings and their allies the Hidden Ones into reforming the order as the Templar Order.
