The Memory Corridor was a digital construct that allowed the Animus to recreate accurate images from a subject's genetic memory. It appeared as an empty virtual space located within Animi.

Usage
The corridor was mainly used as a waiting room between memories, where those using the Animus had the possibility to roam around while a memory was being compiled.

Additionally, in it, dying assassination targets shared their last words with the Assassin who had killed them; most likely to place an emphasis on their final moments.

Bombs were explosive weapons used by Assassins from as early as the Middle Ages. They could be used for a variety of tactics, including escape, assault and distraction.

It was also used as a location for a tutorial for Desmond Miles' first use of the Animus, and later, as an interface for Rebecca Crane's Animus Virtual Training Program.

Smoke bombs were devices that were used more for distraction, rather than offensive purposes. They could be thrown from a distance or dropped on the spot. Using a powder technology from the Far East, the bomb released a thick, grayish smoke screen for a brief time when thrown.

Appearance
With a smoke bomb device, an Assassin was able to halt any enemy or target, allowing for an easy assassination or escape. This also gave them the capability to strike specific targets, or take down larger groups of enemies without being seen or encountering resistance.
The corridor had various backgrounds, based on the version of Animus being used and the type of memory being accessed.

Animus Project
Animus 1.0
History
The Abstergo Industries Animus 1.28 originally had an icy-blue background, that included fog and parts of computer code existent.
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad had access to smoke bombs during his quest for the Chalice. He could carry up to five of them at a time, though evidently stopped using them after the events at Solomon's Temple.

Animus 2.0
The Animus 2.03's background was light gray with white lines, and was the main corridor used within the Animus 2.03, coming to be known as the "White Room".
Smoke bombs were the only type of bombs that were commonly available to Ezio Auditore up until the 16th century. However, upon traveling to Constantinople during his quest to open Altaïr's library, he gained access to a far more extensive variety of bombs.

Bleeding effect
During the Renaissance, smoke bombs were disposable, and had to be purchased for 350 florins each. Ezio could carry a maximum of three at once, which he stored in a non-upgradeable pouch.
This corridor, while being viewed using the Bleeding effect, was mostly black with white lines.

Repressed memories
Ezio also made use of smoke bombs in the city of Rome, though the actual cloud itself was visually a lot smaller than during the previous century. Smoke bombs were also used by Assassin recruits to stun guards once they reached the rank of Veterano (Veteran).
Present in the Cristina memories, a ghost-like Ezio Auditore chased another phantom figure – Cristina Vespucci – through a dark, red-hued corridor with floating binary code.

Traumatic memories
Both the Templars and Assassins were seen using smoke bombs during the American Revoultionary War.
Seen during Pax Romana, the corridor took on an orange coloration with broken fragments of data. This occurred when Desmond first tried accessing the memory and after the death of Cesare Borgia, once Ezio threw Cesare off of the Viana castle wall.

Safe mode
Hand-held bombs
The safe mode program built into the Animus, known as the "Black Room", had a varying dark and bright blue background with black lines, the polar opposite of the appearance of Animus 2.03 in its stable condition.

First Civilization
Hand-held bombs were small explosive devices designed and manufactured by Ezio's close friend, Leonardo da Vinci. Consisting of a small, steel ball filled with sulfur, charcoal and potassium nitrate, they also possessed a small fuse which required lighting before the device could be detonated.
While viewing the memories of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad that were stored on memory seals, the corridor developed golden symbols similar to those embedded on the Masyaf Keys.

Animus 3.0
History
The Animus 3.0's background was similar to that of the Animus 1.28, in that it was icy-blue, but without the fog. It also to be composed of triangular fragments.
These bombs were first used against Cesare Borgia's diehards, who had amassed a sizable military force in the city of Valencia.

Abstergo Entertainment
During the attack on Valencia, Ezio and Niccolò Machiavelli, each equipped with ten hand-held bombs, brought chaos to Cesare's military forces. They destroyed twelve Borgia ships, and an entire military encampment.
The corridor within the portable Animi, available to the public, contained a black background with dark blue floating spheres.

Animi Training Program
As a young privateer and then naval sailor, Piri Reis also used a variety of bombs, having been introduced to them through his uncle Kemal.
First stage
During the first training stage of the Animi Training Program, the memory corridor appeared to be a combination of the Animus 1.28 and 2.03. It had both a blue, fog-filled background and white lines.

Second stage
Crafting
The corridor within the Animi that was used for the second stage of Abstergo's training program had a gray background with cubical fragments.

Upon traveling to Constantinople, Ezio learned from his fellow Assassin Yusuf Tazim how to create a wide range of bombs, with up to 120 variations. In general, they could be divided into three categories: lethal, tactical and diversion.

Animus (game console)
In order to craft bombs expeditiously whenever they acquired the needed ingredients, Assassins set up bomb-crafting stations throughout Constantinople and Cappadocia. Ezio could also quickly craft additional bombs of the same type he was currently carrying, provided he had the required ingredients, but if he ran out of those ingredients or wished to make a different type of bomb, he would have to return to a bomb-crafting station.
The Animus software that was made available to the general public contained a black corridor with a red and blue bokeh pattern.

Trivia
The bombs could be customized based on their different components: casing, gunpowder layer, and effect layer. The casing affected the bomb's structure, while the gunpowder layer defined the properties of the explosion itself, along with the effect layer providing a further result on detonation, such as the scattering of caltrops being one example. Casing determined how the bomb was deployed, gunpowder type determined the strength of the explosion, and effects ingredients determined the effect that the bomb had on those within the blast radius.

*No matter what position or method the assassination target was killed in, or how far away the Assassin was from the target, upon entering the corridor, the Assassin would always be right next to them.
Throughout his time in the city, Ezio was able to collect different ingredients for each of these bombs, and could craft up to a maximum of five bombs per pouch. He had three bomb pouches for lethal, tactical, and diversion. He could also buy bombs from black market dealers, or ingredients from Piri Reis's shop in the Grand Bazaar, doctors, and blacksmiths. He also received ingredients from other cities that were liberated from the Templars.
*The memory corridor was also used in two failed and two spared assassinations. These included Maria Thorpe, Rodrigo Borgia, Micheletto Corella, and Shahkulu.

Bombs were explosive weapons used by Assassins from as early as the Middle Ages. They could be used for a variety of tactics, including escape, assault and distraction.

Smoke bombs were devices that were used more for distraction, rather than offensive purposes. They could be thrown from a distance or dropped on the spot. Using a powder technology from the Far East, the bomb released a thick, grayish smoke screen for a brief time when thrown.[1]

Upon traveling to Constantinople, Ezio learned from his fellow Assassin Yusuf Tazim how to create a wide range of bombs, with up to 120 variations. In general, they could be divided into three categories: lethal, tactical and diversion.[7]

In order to craft bombs expeditiously whenever they acquired the needed ingredients, Assassins set up bomb-crafting stations throughout Constantinople and Cappadocia.
