Assassin's Creed: Revelations is a game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. A direct sequel to 2010's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Revelations is the fourth main installment, and direct follow up of Brotherhood in the video game series.
Lucy Stillman (1988 – 2012) was a member of the Assassin Order, and formerly a genetic memory researcher for Abstergo Industries' Animus project. During her infiltration of Abstergo, she reported information on the company's recent activities to the Assassins. However, Lucy's lengthy separation from the Assassin Order at Abstergo, and distrust for William Miles, led to her secret defection to the Templar cause prior to 2011.

A sequel for Revelations was announced in March 2012, entitled Assassin's Creed III, and is due for release in October of the same year.
When Desmond Miles was brought into Abstergo for testing, Warren Vidic instructed Lucy to earn Desmond's trust, so that the Templars could ultimately find the Piece of Eden located within his memories and use it in their plans for world domination. As Desmond's condition began to worsen, Vidic ordered Lucy to take him someplace that he would feel safe in, with the two of them orchestrating her escape from Abstergo. Carrying out her orders, Lucy would eventually relocate Desmond to a hideout to join her fellow Assassins Shaun Hastings and Rebecca Crane.

Gameplay
After a month and another relocation to the ruined Villa Auditore in Monteriggioni, the team discovered the location of the Apple, which was inside the Colosseum. When Desmond's hand made contact with the Apple, his body was possessed by Juno, a member of the First Civilization. With her knowing of Lucy's true allegiance, Juno forced Desmond to stab and kill Lucy with his hidden blade.
The gameplay system from Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is the basis for Revelations, though Ezio's free-running and combat skills have been upgraded with new features.

Ezio's equipment has been significantly revamped. One of the primary new features is the Hookblade. An extension to the usual Hidden Blade in combat, the Hookblade allows for grappling, throws, and new evasive maneuvers. Outside of combat, the Hookblade accelerates climbing and allows Ezio to make use of the Ziplines placed around Constantinople. Despite the city being larger than Rome, Ezio can cross more ground easily. Also new to Revelations are Bombs. With a component-based crafting system, Ezio can make bombs for any purpose to aid in his missions. Ezio can also use multiple parachutes in a jump, and the control system now features a second weapon wheel for secondary weapons. Ezio himself also now has access to Eagle Sense, a highly trained version of Eagle Vision that allows him to see where a target has been.
Biography
Early life
Lucy Stillman was born into the Order and received her training from William Miles. When she was seventeen, Lucy was sent off into the world in order to become a mole and infiltrate Abstergo. All her ties to the Assassin order were cut. Before starting her work at Abstergo Industries, Lucy attended university to study cognitive neuroscience but was forced to leave when her mentors began to hold issue with her topic of study, which they considered a pseudo-science. Unable to remain at the university, she applied in a variety of locations, and tried everything to find work.

The Assassin recruit system has also been revised. While recruiting process has been expanded with new mission types, recruits can also be raised to 15th rank and made masters of Assassin Dens. Dens replaced Templar holdings after they had been conquered and needed to be defended as Ezio's notoriety rose -- when Ezio became notorious, Templars took notice of his dens and sent their forces to reclaim them.
Eventually, she was contacted by Dr. Warren Vidic, who offered her a position at Abstergo Industries. She accepted the offer and immediately started working with Warren on the Animus project. In the first three years, Lucy was largely responsible for the design of a number of the Animus' functions and interfaces.

Subject 16's puzzles have also been replaced with the Black Room. The Black Room is a dialog between Desmond's consciousness and Subject 16's as it has been recorded into the Animus. Before he died, Subject 16 loaded his personality into the Animus's memory, and Desmond's fractured state allowed him to converse with Subject 16.
While Lucy was on fairly cordial and friendly terms with a few other employees at Abstergo, such as Richard, these same individuals were later ordered to have Lucy killed. However, Warren intervened, knowing she was a valuable employee for his project.

Plot
Subject 16
Present-day protagonist Desmond Miles had fallen into a coma from the previous events of the previous games, and to save Desmond's mind, the Assassins had put him into a specialized safe area of the Animus, called The Black Room. Upon awakening inside the Animus, Desmond met the consciousness of Subject 16, who occupied the Animus before him. Sixteen explained that Desmond's mind was fragmented, and that the only way for him to separate the pieces of himself from those of his ancestors was to continue to play out their stories until there was nothing left for them to show Desmond, known as a Synch Nexus. Once he reached that point, the Animus would be able to separate the three individual's memories.
By 2011, William Miles, the de facto leader of the Assassin Order, charged Clay Kaczmarek to infiltrate Abstergo's Animus project in order to discover their motives and interest in Assassin DNA. William's plan was to have Clay be intentionally kidnapped so that Lucy could give Clay access to Abstergo's network at night without detection. Lucy was responsible for protecting Clay's research and physical well being, and once Clay discovered the Templars' goals, Lucy and Clay would escape Abstergo and return to the Order.

Desmond entered the Black Room's memory corridor, which once again placed him in the perspective of Ezio Auditore. Ezio had traveled to Masyaf to attempt to unlock the secrets that Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad had previously discovered and to find his true purpose in the struggle between the Assassins and the Templars. Upon arriving, he found the stronghold overrun by the Templars, who captured him and planned his execution.
However, unbeknownst to the Assassins, Lucy's loyalties had shifted. Years of isolation coupled with William's withdrawn and careless personality drove her away from the Assassins and into the Templars. Warren Vidic offered Lucy guidance and protection, and she became a double agent for him.

Ezio escaped to the bowels of the fortress where he discovered the entrance to Altaïr's library. He learned that five keys were required to unlock the door, that the Templars had the first, and that Niccolò Polo's journal would lead them to the rest. Ezio pursued a Templar captain, Leandros, to the Atlas village and recovered the journal from him. He learned that the remaining keys lie hidden in Constantinople, and that the Templars hoped to find the location of the Grand Temple in the library.
Through Subject 16, Vidic discovered that the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze knew about the Apple of Eden and one of the Vaults, which the Templars desired. Vidic proposed that Ezio's Apple could be attached to one of their satellites and projected across the globe, ensuring Templar rule and domination. However, Subject 16's health was deteriorating, so Vidic needed a new test subject that was related to Ezio Auditore. Abstergo managed to gather enough intelligence to learn that Desmond Miles, William Miles' son, was a living descendant of Ezio Auditore.

Upon arriving in Constantinople, Ezio was greeted by Yusuf Tazim, the leader of the local Assassins Guild, and befriended a young student. While searching for Niccolò 's old trading post, Ezio came across and befriended Sofia Sartor, a young Italian traveler and book collector, and quickly became infatuated with her. Having recovered his first key and an encoded map from the Yerebatan Cistern, which would lead Ezio to the keys, he learned that each one was encoded with Altaïr's memories. Each key allowed Ezio to have an Animus-like experience in which he relived key moments of Altaïr's life.
Subject 16, still acting on his mission from William, discovered Abstergo's plan for domination, and resolved to leave the facility in order to stop them. However, Subject 16 also discovered security tapes, detailing Lucy's true allegiance. The tapes also included Warren's plans for Desmond: Lucy would allow Desmond to see her e-mails and give him access to Abstergo's network in order to gain his trust and affiliation. If he began to suffer from the Bleeding effect, Lucy would help him "escape" the lab and take him back to the Assassins, where he would feel safe. She would also keep Vidic informed of their actions, and once the Apple of Eden was discovered, she would bring it back to Abstergo. Despite knowing Subject 16 discovered her, Lucy still protected him, but refused to let him leave or make contact with the Assassins.

With the first key in his possession, Ezio managed to witness Altaïr's life two years prior to the events in Solomon's Temple, during a Crusader attack on Masyaf. With the help of a traitor, Haras, they managed to capture Al Mualim, but Altaïr arrived in time to save him. After he had emerged from the memories, Ezio asked Sofia to help him track down the locations of the remaining four keys while keeping his true intentions secret.
Soon thereafter, Subject 16 left clues and messages for Desmond inside the Animus research wing and in the Animus itself. His health quickly worsened, and he committed suicide in August of 2012.

The second key showed Ezio the events that transpired after Altaïr killed Al-Mualim. Altaïr took possession of the Apple of Eden and assumed the leadership of the Assassins. However, one of the Assassins, Abbas, who held grudge against Altaïr for spreading supposed lies about his family, suspected the death of Al Mualim to be a coup and that Altaïr had killed him just to attain more power at any cost. After a short conflict between Altaïr and Abbas' supporters, Abbas managed to steal the Apple from Al Mualim's study, but it proved too much for him to control. The Apple began to over-charge, slowly draining him of life in the process. Altaïr managed to deactivate the artifact and save Abbas in time.

In September 2012, Desmond Miles was discovered and transported to the Abstergo research facility in Italy. Lucy was the person responsible for pulling Desmond out of the Animus, after she noticed that his subconscious would not let him view the specific memory Abstergo wanted. As Warren explained to Desmond what the Animus did, and what genetic memories were, she explained Abstergo's goal, though without revealing too much information to Desmond.

The third key showed Altaïr and his wife, Maria Thorpe when they returned to Masyaf, after ten years of struggle repelling the Mongol invasion. They had learned that Abbas staged a coup, seizing control of the Assassins and executing their youngest son Sef, while Templars managed to retake their archive on Cyprus, as Abbas had sent no reinforcements there. Altaïr demanded answers from Abbas, and it was revealed that Swami, one of Abbas' supporters, killed Sef. Enraged, Altaïr used the Apple to make Swami cut his own throat, but Maria attempted to stop him. In the brief moment of control, Swami stabbed Maria through the back before being killed by Altaïr. Altaïr was then forced to flee with his older son, Darim, and go into exile, where he remained for the next twenty years.
In a seemingly sincere attempt to gain his trust, Lucy asked Desmond questions between his Animus sessions concerning his past and tried to answer his questions about Abstergo, whilst not revealing too much. She also stated that he was not the only person Abstergo was detaining and that she was also an unfortunate captive.

The fourth key showed Altaïr finally returning to Masyaf, decaying after the twenty years of Abbas' rule., Abbas's paranoia and madness had weakened the Assassins and undone most of the advantage the Order once had over the Templars. Altaïr managed to convince the Assassins to turn against Abbas, killing his captains on the way to the fortress, as they had betrayed the Creed. Reaching the castle, Altaïr killed Abbas with the Hidden Gun and took back his rightful place as the leader of the Assassins.
She then told him a story of how, in the past, Abstergo had decided to silence her in order to keep her from speaking about the Animus. However, before her assailants could eliminate her, they were ordered to stand down by Warren. She claimed that he had saved her life that day and told Desmond not to judge Warren so harshly, seeing as he was under a lot of pressure.

The fifth key showed Altaïr as a Mentor of the Levantine Assassins. Having seen the future through the Apple of Eden, he encoded his memories into the keys and entrusted them to Niccolò Polo and his brother Maffeo, instructing them to hide the artifacts. Altaïr and Darim escorted the brothers through the village with the power of the Apple to help repel the Mongol attackers.

As more time passed, Lucy left the door access codes in Desmond's wardrobe, so that he could finally leave his room. On top of the Animus, Desmond found Lucy's access pen, which had also been left there for him to find. This allowed him go through her computer and read her e-mails. Later, Lucy convinced Desmond that she was also an Assassin, and was working undercover to learn more about Abstergo's plans.

Meanwhile, Constantinople was in chaos due to conflicts between Prince Ahmet and his brother Selim, who were quarreling over who would inherit the Sultanate. Caught in the middle of the conflict, Suleiman revealed to Ezio that he was an Ottoman prince and that he suspected the Templars are behind Ahmet and Selim's feud.
When Desmond finished his time in the Animus, three Abstergo executives, along with Vidic, decided to kill Desmond. They figured that the information they retrieved rendered Desmond unneeded. However, Lucy intervened, and convinced them to keep Desmond for more testing, as his memories could still reveal more about the locations of the Pieces of Eden.

Suleiman asked Ezio to investigate the possible involvement of a Janissary captain, Tarik Barleti, in the plot against the Ottomans. Ezio uncovered evidence that Manuel Palaiologos, with Templar support, was attempting to raise an army to overthrow the Ottomans and reestablish the Byzantine Empire and that Tarik had been providing him with a shipment of weapons.
Escape to the hideout
We're going to train you. Turn you into one of us.
A few hours passed after Lucy and Vidic left, leaving Desmond trapped in the lab where he had used his new skill to view Subject 16's hidden messages. Suddenly, Lucy rushed into the room, with bloodstains on her shirt from fighting her way through the Abstergo facility.

Upon disclosing his findings to Suleiman, he asked Ezio to kill Tarik on the count of treason. Ezio agreed to do it, but, with his dying breaths, Tarik revealed he had attempted to lure the Templars out and learn their location. Ezio once again met with Suleiman and presented the information that the Templars were based out in Cappadocia and that is where Manuel fled. Suleiman provided Ezio with a ship to Cappadocia. Ezio set sail in pursuit of Palaiologos but not before destroying the Great Chain that the Janissaries had raised across the Golden Horn to prevent Ezio's escape after Tarik's murder.

Lucy told Desmond that there was no time to waste, and that he had to get into the Animus to retrieve the memory core data. Lucy wrote the data on a disk and, along with Desmond, fled the laboratory. The two successfully fought their way out of the facility and began their escape.

Once in Cappadocia, Ezio met one of Tarik's spies, Dilara, and, after rescuing her comrades from Shahkulu, learned that the firearms Tarik sold to Manuel were defunct, but he had had to provide real gunpowder. Ezio then destroyed the entire supply with a bomb and hunted Manuel in the ensuing chaos. He recovered the final key, only to discover that Ahmet was the true mastermind of the Templar plot to discover the secrets of Altaïr's library. Realizing that Ahmet knew about Sofia, Ezio raced back to Constantinople.
There, they found themselves confronted by more Abstergo guards. Quickly disposing of them, they continued onward through aisles of office blocks and Animi, until they reached another coded door. Lucy's access key unexpectedly did not work for this one, however Desmond was able to unlock it by use of his newly acquired Eagle Vision. As they entered the parking lot, they were blocked off by more Abstergo guards. The two eventually fought them off, and arrived at Lucy's car. She then ordered Desmond to climb into the trunk for "[his] own protection." When the journey was over, the pair had arrived at the hideout. Before they entered the main room, Lucy told Desmond that she had brought him there to train him into an Assassin, using the Animus 2.0 and its Bleeding effect to imprint skills onto him, through another ancestor, Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

Meanwhile, inside the Animus, the entire environment of the Black Room began breaking down as the Animus started deleting unnecessary data. Subject 16 pushed Desmond through the memory portal, sacrificing himself to prevent Desmond from being deleted.
Entering the main room, Lucy's fellow Assassins, Shaun Hastings and Rebecca Crane, introduced themselves to Desmond and began preparations for the sessions. Later that day, Lucy evaluated Desmond's progress by tasking him with setting up the security system. In between sessions, they also discussed issues such as the Templars and the status of other Assassin teams.

Ezio discovered that Ahmet had killed Yusuf and kidnapped Sofia. Ezio and the Assassins assaulted the Arsenal where Ahmet had fled with his forces, and he proposed an exchange, the keys for Sofia's life. Ezio agreed to the trade but immediately gave chase to Ahmet after he ensured that Sofia was safe. Ezio recovered the keys, after a lengthy chase through the countryside, but before he could deal with Ahmet, Selim arrived with his armies. Informing his brother that Sultan Bayezid named Selim as his successor, he strangled Ahmet and threw him off a cliff to his death. Because Ezio was a personal friend of Suleiman, Selim decides to spare Ezio's life but warns him to leave Constantinople and never return.
After Desmond had discovered the Vault in Rome through Ezio's memories, the alarm went off as Abstergo invaded their hideout. Hurriedly, Lucy gave Desmond a hidden blade similar to Ezio's, and they made their way downstairs.

When they encountered Warren Vidic in the warehouse, he reminded Lucy that he had saved her life. Both Lucy and Desmond engaged in a fight with the Abstergo guards, quickly defeating them. Warren had climbed in the back of a truck, stating that the attack was only the beginning, before fleeing the hideout.

Together, both Ezio and Sofia returned to Masyaf, where Ezio explained the true meaning of the Assassin's Creed and used the keys to unlock Altaïr's library hidden underneath the castle. Leaving Sofia at the gate, Ezio found the library empty except for Altaïr's skeleton, holding the sixth key. Taking it, Ezio relived yet another memory, of Altaïr sending his son Darim away with the books and sealing himself inside the library with the Apple, until it could be discovered by the proper person. Ezio decided to leave the Apple in the library, along with his blades and sword, and began speaking directly to Desmond, telling of his intention to finally retire from the life of an Assassin, believing that he had served his purpose. He expressed his hope that Desmond would be able to find the answers to the questions that he and Altaïr had suffered so much to uncover.
As Desmond started to go after him, Lucy stopped him and said that they would eventually bring Warren to justice for what he had done. Lucy and the others evacuated the hideout since it was no longer safe, and Abstergo would surely be back with reinforcements.

Desmond was then approached by Jupiter, another projection of a member of the First Civilization, similar to Juno and Minerva. He explained to Desmond that the First Civilization built numerous underground vaults that would independently study various methods to save the planet from destruction, with all of the data being transmitted to a central vault where he, Juno, and Minerva tested them. Six most prominent were chosen in the end. None of them were effective, and they failed to stop the solar flare that destroyed the Earth.
They left in a van to hide in the mountains, and Desmond prepared to enter the Animus again to continue their search for clues. Meanwhile, Lucy continued to study the session notes to try to figure out what the "goddess" Minerva had meant, telling Desmond that everything she had feared was starting to happen.

Jupiter told Desmond that he had the power to save the planet from the second solar flare and showed him the location of the central vault. Desmond finally woke up from the Animus to see Rebecca, Shaun, and his father standing over him. They had managed to smuggle him out of Rome and had taken him to America. Desmond's arm started to glow with blue pattern, and upon seeing Ezio's Apple of Eden, he told the other Assassins that he knew what they had to do.

After a long drive, the Assassins finally arrived in modern-day Monteriggioni, setting up their new hideout in the Sanctuary underneath the Villa Auditore. Lucy and Desmond opened the door to the Sanctuary by passing through the underground sewers and tunnels.

Development
As Desmond continued to relive Ezio's memories, he eventually discovered another message from Subject 16. 16 warned Desmond that "she is not who you think she is" and everything he wanted "was already gone". He instructed him to find Eve and Eden, though Desmond was not able to fully understand what 16 meant.
Revelations will be the final Assassin's Creed game to depict Altaïr and Ezio as main characters, as Assassin's Creed III will introduce a new protagonist.

Weapons
After Desmond relived Ezio's memories in Rome, the Assassins discovered that Ezio had hidden the Apple of Eden in a vault, underneath the Colosseum. As soon as Desmond retrieved the Apple within the vault, Juno took control of Desmond's body and warned that "the cross darkens the horizon". Desmond was then forced to stab Lucy in the stomach with his hidden blade, killing her. These events put Desmond under a great deal of emotional stress, and, as a result, he fell into a coma.
A new weapon called the hookblade was introduced, which allows Ezio to use ziplines throughout the city, speeding up navigation by around 30%, and allowing him to grab higher ledges when jumping and climbing. Additionally, a crafting system allows the creation of bombs, with options of 120 different combinations.

Assassin Dens
Lucy was buried shortly thereafter in a small cemetery near Rome. Shaun was the only one of her team to attend the funeral, as William Miles had already transported Desmond and Rebecca to New York City to continue Desmond's Animus sessions, who was still in a comatose state.
Assassin Dens
The concept of Borgia towers has been expanded, and in order to neutralize the Templar presence, various assault scenarios must be completed. The liberated buildings will be known as Assassin Dens, though control over them may be lost to a Templar assault. These attacks will be triggered when the player's notoriety increases.

Controlling a den and its surrounding region will allow the player to upgrade all the shops and buildings in that area, including the den itself, which will provide more navigation options (like additional ziplines for the hookblade) in that part of the city. As an added benefit, controlling a den will change the character of the surrounding guards. Regular Ottoman patrols will continue to monitor the regions under control, and will still halt if illegal activities are committed, but won't be overly hostile.
Personality
In contrast to Warren Vidic's personality, Lucy was a warm and appreciative individual with a bright personality. She always lent encouraging words and sympathy to Desmond, though this often annoyed him. On a few occasions, when Warren attempted to force Desmond to go deeper into the Animus memory, Lucy stopped him from doing so and pleaded with him to allow Desmond to rest, showing her caring personality.

Assassin's Dens can be protected by either the player or by an assigned Master Assassin, who will ensure the prevention of any further Templar attacks on the building.
However, it appears that after Lucy left the Assassin order she became much more jaded and disheartened by the world. In a letter to Subject 16, she explained that William Miles was using them to fuel the war, while Abstergo cared about people and understood humanity's limitation. However, she still showed 16 compassion, as she promised to protect him.

Others
Lucy proved to be a deceitful person, as she was able to hide her affiliation to the Templars from her Assassin colleagues for a long time. Despite her true allegiance, she appeared to show genuine care and compassion to her team, and her regrets about Clay still haunted her towards the end of her life.

Instead of only featuring normal secondary memories, Ubisoft has added new Random Events. These were intended to be more extensive, with Ezio finding a store owner being robbed or a child in need of help. In the game, Ezio is merely challenged to brawls or asked to help carry boxes to a dock.

*The achievement "Conversationalist" can be unlocked in the Xbox 360 version of Assassin's Creed by talking to Lucy every time Desmond exits the Animus. Note that Desmond must talk to her completely, until she says that she is too busy to talk or asks if he is tired.
*It is implied throughout Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood that Lucy and Desmond have feelings for each other. There is evidence of this from her caring for his well-being due to the bleeding effect, as well as hugging him and saying that she is glad he is with the Assassins.
**In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, an e-mail she received from William Miles also further implies that Lucy has feelings for Desmond. The message states that she should not keep Desmond out of danger "just because of feelings she may or may not have" for him.
**Also, in Assassin's Creed: Revelations, when William Miles asks Rebecca about Lucy's feelings for Desmond, Rebecca replies that there were a few "misty-eyed moments" between the two, and Shaun adds that she had told him she liked Desmond.
*In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Lucy has Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy up on her computer in the Sanctuary, set to the memory sequence for Mario Auditore.
*While Desmond talks to Lucy outside the Villa in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, she comments that nearly a decade of her life has been spent searching for the Pieces of Eden. Also in Assassin's Creed II, Rebecca says that it has been 7 years since they last met. This would mean that Lucy spent her mid-teens (16-17 onward) searching for the Pieces of Eden.
*From Sequence 6 to Sequence 8 in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Lucy is missing from Monteriggioni, though the exact reason for this is unknown.

*Lucy's password for her e-mail account is Juno57. This proved to be foreshadowing, as it was Juno who forced Desmond to stab her.
*In a very rare glitch, on her way to the Colosseum in the van with Desmond, she can be seen wearing her outfit from Assassin's Creed II.
*When stabbed by Desmond, Lucy's eyes can be seen to move and look at Desmond just a split second before they fall to the ground.
*Lucy is one of five known Assassin to be converted to the Templar cause, others being Al Mualim, Haras , Vali cel Tradat and Daniel Cross .

Eagle Vision has been modified into Eagle Sense, which can allow the player to focus on a character and determine the route they have taken. This will thus give the player an estimation of where they will go, which could be useful for ambushes or locating a secluded place to strike a target.

The modern day aspect of the game has also been upgraded with a new feature labeled "revolutionary gameplay," in which Desmond Miles needs to change the construct of his ancestors' memories and, in the process, unravel the future.

To do this, Desmond will enter the Animus and find a safe-mode called the Black Room, where he will reintegrate the splintered layers of his subconscious. Here, a great deal more about Desmond's own past will be revealed.

During a recent interview with gameplanet.com (a New Zealand based gaming website), Darby McDevitt stated that the majority of Desmond's gameplay will be within the Animus and indicated that there may be a very small portion in a different context.

The Desmond gameplay will be similar, in a way, to the Secret Locations that were seen in previous games. To quote Alexandre Breault: "The majority of the game-play in these Animus section focuses on movement, timing, and precision, but we also include some illusion based puzzles inspired by the work of Rene Magritte and Roger Penrose. The game will also make updates to crowd mechanics, adding stalkers who run up to Ezio and attack him, preceeded by whispers, similar to Brotherhoods multiplayer.<br />In the same vein of making the gameplay seem more real, mission givers will no longer stand motionless, ready to give Ezio a task – They will be real people, performing tasks of their own until Ezio approaches, and talks to them.

Multiplayer
Like its predecessor, Revelations comes with a multiplayer mode. It features new modes, maps and characters (with facial animations and expressions) to refine the experience.

Additionally, it has improved story and customization features, allowing the player to choose their own weapon and secondary weapon, change their appearance, and edit their clothes and other minor features.

Changes have also been made from the mechanics of Brotherhood. In a new mode named Deathmatch, it has no more skin replicates, to make players rely more on their observation skills, as well as there being no compass, forcing players to carefully observe their surroundings in search of their targets. Another change is that the line of sight indicator is now the target's portrait and when their portrait outline turns blue, it means they are within sight. A Contested kill bonus was also introduced, which is earned when stun and kill actions occur at the same time.

Like in Brotherhood, the Assassin always wins against their stunner when their actions coincided with their target's, but, unlike Brotherhood, the Assassin would have their score knocked down to earn a Discreet or lower, as well as dazing them and affecting their movement afterward, as punishment. The failed stunner would also earn a 100 point bonus called Honorable Death.

Abstergo credits will also be awarded to player after a match, which can be used to buy items in the Abstergo Store. A chase-breaker ability named Closure was also featured, its function being to close chase-breakers and prevent a target from escaping, or to delay an pursuer. Along with Closure, there are two other new abilities, named Teleport and Bodyguard. The former allows a player to travel a distance in the direction their camera is facing, and the latter allows a player to turn a nearby NPC into a bodyguard, which will stun a nearby pursuer when they come into the range of the ability, at the cost of the points from the stun.

A new Team mode called Artifact Assault was also featured, in which the objective is to steal the enemy team's artifact and bring back to your team's base. Keeping track on multiple targets would also be easier, as now there would be small target portraits next to your primary target's portrait. In team modes as well, teammates can revive other teammates who were stunned by their targets.

Two new Free for All modes made an appearance too, which are Corruption and Steal the Artifact. Corruption works on the basis of an infection-style mode, with each player earning a standard amount of points over time, which increases with the amount of players corrupted and the proximity of the player to an corrupted player. For Corrupted players, they have to hunt down and kill their uncorrupted targets, until the round ends or all uncorrupted targets are slain.

Steal the Artifact works on the basis of each player striving to obtain an artifact for themselves, with only one or two being on offer for them to take. After a player obtains an artifact, they have to secure the chest for up to two minutes, while the other players in the match hunt them down to kill them and take the artifact for themselves.

"Sometimes I feel so disconnected from everything out there. Nearly a decade of my life gone, searching for those Pieces of Eden."
―Lucy to Desmond outside the Villa Auditore.[src]

Lucy Stillman (1988 – 2012) was a member of the Assassin Order, and formerly a genetic memory researcher for Abstergo Industries' Animus project. During her infiltration of Abstergo, she reported information on the company's recent activities to the Assassins. However, Lucy's lengthy separation from the Assassin Order at Abstergo, and distrust for William Miles, led to her secret defection to the Templar cause prior to 2011.

Biography

Early life

"The university made it clear I had no future there. [...] Said keeping me on would discredit and embarrass them."
―Lucy speaking to Desmond.[src]

Lucy Stillman was born into the Order and received her training from William Miles. When she was seventeen, Lucy was sent off into the world in order to become a mole and infiltrate Abstergo. All her ties to the Assassin order were cut.[1] Before starting her work at Abstergo Industries, Lucy attended university to study cognitive neuroscience but was forced to leave when her mentors began to hold issue with her topic of study, which they considered a pseudo-science. Unable to remain at the university, she applied in a variety of locations, and tried everything to find work.[2]

Eventually, she was contacted by Dr. Warren Vidic, who offered her a position at Abstergo Industries. She accepted the offer and immediately started working with Warren on the Animus project. In the first three years, Lucy was largely responsible for the design of a number of the Animus' functions and interfaces.[2]

While Lucy was on fairly cordial and friendly terms with a few other employees at Abstergo, such as Richard, these same individuals were later ordered to have Lucy killed. However, Warren intervened, knowing she was a valuable employee for his project.[2]

Subject 16

By 2011, William Miles, the de facto leader of the Assassin Order, charged Clay Kaczmarek to infiltrate Abstergo's Animus project in order to discover their motives and interest in Assassin DNA. William's plan was to have Clay be intentionally kidnapped so that Lucy could give Clay access to Abstergo's network at night without detection. Lucy was responsible for protecting Clay's research and physical well being, and once Clay discovered the Templars' goals, Lucy and Clay would escape Abstergo and return to the Order.[1]

However, unbeknownst to the Assassins, Lucy's loyalties had shifted. Years of isolation coupled with William's withdrawn and careless personality drove her away from the Assassins and into the Templars. Warren Vidic offered Lucy guidance and protection, and she became a double agent for him.[1]

Abstergo managed to gather enough intelligence to learn that Desmond Miles, William Miles' son, was a living descendant of Ezio Auditore.[1]

Despite knowing Subject 16 discovered her, Lucy still protected him, but refused to let him leave or make contact with the Assassins.[1]

Soon thereafter, Subject 16 left clues and messages for Desmond inside the Animus research wing and in the Animus itself. His health quickly worsened, and he committed suicide in August of 2012.[1]

Subject 17

Lucy: "[Vidic] said he'd been following my career since undergrad. That he believed in my work and wanted to meet to discuss my future. You have no idea how good it felt to hear that. So I met with him. What did I have to lose?"
Desmond: "And he offered you a job."
Lucy: "Yes. Here at Abstergo. Helping out on the Animus project. I’d have a chance to test my theories and prove the professors wrong. How could I turn that down?"
—Lucy explaining how she ended up in Abstergo.[src]
File:Lucyanimus.png

In September 2012, Desmond Miles was discovered and transported to the Abstergo research facility in Italy. Lucy was the person responsible for pulling Desmond out of the Animus, after she noticed that his subconscious would not let him view the specific memory Abstergo wanted. As Warren explained to Desmond what the Animus did, and what genetic memories were, she explained Abstergo's goal, though without revealing too much information to Desmond.[2]

In a seemingly sincere attempt to gain his trust, Lucy asked Desmond questions between his Animus sessions concerning his past and tried to answer his questions about Abstergo, whilst not revealing too much. She also stated that he was not the only person Abstergo was detaining and that she was also an unfortunate captive.[2]

She then told him a story of how, in the past, Abstergo had decided to silence her in order to keep her from speaking about the Animus. However, before her assailants could eliminate her, they were ordered to stand down by Warren. She claimed that he had saved her life that day and told Desmond not to judge Warren so harshly, seeing as he was under a lot of pressure.[2]

Lucy monitoring Desmond in the Animus.

As more time passed, Lucy left the door access codes in Desmond's wardrobe, so that he could finally leave his room. On top of the Animus, Desmond found Lucy's access pen, which had also been left there for him to find. This allowed him go through her computer and read her e-mails. Later, Lucy convinced Desmond that she was also an Assassin, and was working undercover to learn more about Abstergo's plans.[2]

When Desmond finished his time in the Animus, three Abstergo executives, along with Vidic, decided to kill Desmond. They figured that the information they retrieved rendered Desmond unneeded. However, Lucy intervened, and convinced them to keep Desmond for more testing, as his memories could still reveal more about the locations of the Pieces of Eden.[2]

Escape to the hideout

"We're going to train you. Turn you into one of us."
―Lucy to Desmond.[src]

A few hours passed after Lucy and Vidic left, leaving Desmond trapped in the lab where he had used his new skill to view Subject 16's hidden messages.[2] Suddenly, Lucy rushed into the room, with bloodstains on her shirt from fighting her way through the Abstergo facility.[3]

File:EfAI 3.png

Lucy told Desmond that there was no time to waste, and that he had to get into the Animus to retrieve the memory core data. Lucy wrote the data on a disk and, along with Desmond, fled the laboratory. The two successfully fought their way out of the facility and began their escape.[3]

Before they entered the main room, Lucy told Desmond that she had brought him there to train him into an Assassin, using the Animus 2.0 and its Bleeding effect to imprint skills onto him, through another ancestor, Ezio Auditore da Firenze.[3]

Entering the main room, Lucy's fellow Assassins, Shaun Hastings and Rebecca Crane, introduced themselves to Desmond and began preparations for the sessions. Later that day, Lucy evaluated Desmond's progress by tasking him with setting up the security system. In between sessions, they also discussed issues such as the Templars and the status of other Assassin teams.[3]

After Desmond had discovered the Vault in Rome through Ezio's memories, the alarm went off as Abstergo invaded their hideout. Hurriedly, Lucy gave Desmond a hidden blade similar to Ezio's, and they made their way downstairs.[3]

Lucy introduces Desmond to Rebecca and Shaun.

When they encountered Warren Vidic in the warehouse, he reminded Lucy that he had saved her life. Both Lucy and Desmond engaged in a fight with the Abstergo guards, quickly defeating them. Warren had climbed in the back of a truck, stating that the attack was only the beginning, before fleeing the hideout.[3]

As Desmond started to go after him, Lucy stopped him and said that they would eventually bring Warren to justice for what he had done. Lucy and the others evacuated the hideout since it was no longer safe, and Abstergo would surely be back with reinforcements.[3]

They left in a van to hide in the mountains, and Desmond prepared to enter the Animus again to continue their search for clues. Meanwhile, Lucy continued to study the session notes to try to figure out what the "goddess" Minerva had meant, telling Desmond that everything she had feared was starting to happen.[3]

Search for the Apple and death

Desmond: "Think how great you'll feel when we finally stop the Templars."
Lucy: "I'm not sure it will ever end, Desmond. I can't do this forever."
—Desmond and Lucy outside the Villa Auditore.[src]
Lucy being stabbed by Desmond.

After a long drive, the Assassins finally arrived in modern-day Monteriggioni, setting up their new hideout in the Sanctuary underneath the Villa Auditore. Lucy and Desmond opened the door to the Sanctuary by passing through the underground sewers and tunnels.[4]

These events put Desmond under a great deal of emotional stress, and, as a result, he fell into a coma.[4]

Lucy was buried shortly thereafter in a small cemetery near Rome. Shaun was the only one of her team to attend the funeral, as William Miles had already transported Desmond and Rebecca to New York City to continue Desmond's Animus sessions, who was still in a comatose state.[5]

Personality

"Let me guess, you're more the in-bed-at-six type."
―Desmond to Lucy while they travel to the Sanctuary.[src]
Lucy and Desmond outside the Villa Auditore.

In contrast to Warren Vidic's personality, Lucy was a warm and appreciative individual with a bright personality. She always lent encouraging words and sympathy to Desmond, though this often annoyed him. On a few occasions, when Warren attempted to force Desmond to go deeper into the Animus memory, Lucy stopped him from doing so and pleaded with him to allow Desmond to rest, showing her caring personality.[2]

However, it appears that after Lucy left the Assassin order she became much more jaded and disheartened by the world. In a letter to Subject 16, she explained that William Miles was using them to fuel the war, while Abstergo cared about people and understood humanity's limitation. However, she still showed 16 compassion, as she promised to protect him.[1]

Lucy proved to be a deceitful person, as she was able to hide her affiliation to the Templars from her Assassin colleagues for a long time. Despite her true allegiance, she appeared to show genuine care and compassion to her team, and her regrets about Clay still haunted her towards the end of her life.[1]

  • The achievement "Conversationalist" can be unlocked in the Xbox 360 version of Assassin's Creed by talking to Lucy every time Desmond exits the Animus. Note that Desmond must talk to her completely, until she says that she is too busy to talk or asks if he is tired.
  • It is implied throughout Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood that Lucy and Desmond have feelings for each other. There is evidence of this from her caring for his well-being due to the bleeding effect, as well as hugging him and saying that she is glad he is with the Assassins.
    • In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, an e-mail she received from William Miles also further implies that Lucy has feelings for Desmond. The message states that she should not keep Desmond out of danger "just because of feelings she may or may not have" for him.
    • Also, in Assassin's Creed: Revelations, when William Miles asks Rebecca about Lucy's feelings for Desmond, Rebecca replies that there were a few "misty-eyed moments" between the two, and Shaun adds that she had told him she liked Desmond.
  • In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Lucy has Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy up on her computer in the Sanctuary, set to the memory sequence for Mario Auditore.
  • While Desmond talks to Lucy outside the Villa in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, she comments that nearly a decade of her life has been spent searching for the Pieces of Eden. Also in Assassin's Creed II, Rebecca says that it has been 7 years since they last met. This would mean that Lucy spent her mid-teens (16-17 onward) searching for the Pieces of Eden.
  • From Sequence 6 to Sequence 8 in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Lucy is missing from Monteriggioni, though the exact reason for this is unknown.
Lucy's concept art.
  • Lucy's password for her e-mail account is Juno57. This proved to be foreshadowing, as it was Juno who forced Desmond to stab her.
  • In a very rare glitch, on her way to the Colosseum in the van with Desmond, she can be seen wearing her outfit from Assassin's Creed II.
  • When stabbed by Desmond, Lucy's eyes can be seen to move and look at Desmond just a split second before they fall to the ground.
  • Lucy is one of five known Assassin to be converted to the Templar cause, others being Al Mualim, Haras , Vali cel Tradat and Daniel Cross .
