Philippe Olivier de Grandpré (1722 - 1776) was a wealthy French merchant who lived in New Orleans during the time of Louisiana Rebellion. He was the father of the Assassin Aveline de Grandpré.
Biography
Early life
Philippe was born in France in 1722 to a family of successful merchants. As a young man, he traveled to Louisiana in search of business opportunities and established a trading enterprise there, shipping goods from the new world to the old.
Meeting Jeanne
In 1744, whilst on a business to Saint-Domingue, he purchased a slave named Jeanne. Philippe brought her back to New Orleans and she became his placée bride.
