Seems to me that the Mario thing is more an obvious shout out than an easter egg. It's not even remotely hidden.

Why the hell does it call Sackboy's Ezio outfit for LBP the "Purple Assassin" outfit? It's not purple. It's his ordinary assassin's gear from the 2nd game. 122.104.203.226 11:15, October 7, 2010 (UTC)
