The Aesir (Norse: Æsir) were the gods of the main pantheon in the Norse religion.

History

The Aesir was the name of the main pantheon in Norse mythology and religion. The pantheon consisted of many gods, among them, Odin, Frigg, Hother, Thor, Baldr, and Tyr. The Aesir used to be enemies of another pantheon in the Norse religion, the Vanir. These two pantheons declared war on each other and battled, resulting in the unification of the two pantheons.[1]
