Yakov Yurovsky

Yakov Mikhailovich Yurovsky (1878–1938) was a Russian revolutionary best known for being the chief executioner of the Romanov family as a member of the Russian Rite of the Templar Order

On 4 July 1918, Yurovsky became the commandant of the Ipatiev House by the decision of the Ural Council. Intent on securing the family's Precursor box for the Order, he later directed the execution of the royal family on the night of 16 July to 17 July 1918.[1]
