Xu was a spy of Du Yuesheng, the crimeboss of Green Gang, operating in Shanghai during the early 20th century.
In April 1927, the Black Cross Albert Bolden let himself caught by Du deliberately, in order to gain the information he had. And Du also know a Chinese actress named Roo, as well as her role in this event. Afterwards, he sent Xu to track her down.
During the time around the Shanghai massacre of 1927, Xu witnessed Roo knocked her husband out and took Darius Gift to a temple. Then he called to Du Yuesheng, who order he keep his eye on them, and he will sent Flowery Flag to eliminate the couple.
