Biography

In July, 1715, the Templars were expecting Duncan Walpole, a turncoat Assassin, who was delivering a blood vial and maps of Assassin bureau throughout the Caribbean. They were unaware that Duncan was killed by a pirate named Edward Kenway, who took on Duncan's identity and completed his delivery. Upon meeting, Rogers remarked that "Duncan" didn't resemble his wife's description, before challenging him to a shooting contest.

Afterwards, they met with Grand Master Laureano de Torres y Ayala and then discussed their plans to locate a First Civilization site known as the Observatory. Torres then sent Edward and Rogers down to the docks to collect Bartholomew Roberts, a Sage who could lead them to the Observatory. Upon arriving, Rogers heard Stede Bonnet call "Duncan" Edward and got suspicious. Edward lied his way out, claiming that he gave Bonnet a pseudonym, which Rogers quickly swallowed. They then collected Roberts, before fending off an Assassin ambush. After safely getting Roberts to the jails, Rogers returned to England in hopes of becoming governor.

Appointed governor of the Bahamas, Rogers returned to the Caribbean in 1718 to enforce English rule in Nassau. He offered the pirate "governors" of the island a pardon.
