Wine is an alcoholic beverage typically made from fermented grapes.[1] It is one of the oldest types of alcohol in the world,[1] having been popular as far back as ancient Greece,[2] where one of their main gods was the god of wine, Dionysos.

Markos of Kephallonia, a friend to the misthios Kassandra, owned a vineyard and produced wine, though it was nigh undrinkable,[3] something that Kassandra would remember throughout her life.[4] During the Renaissance, members of the Italian Brotherhood of Assassins were known to make their own wine.[5]
