Valdis was a Viking leader based in the Kingdom of East Anglia in the 9th century. After the Viking Eivor freed Oswald of East Anglia from his imprisonment in Burgh Castle by the self-proclaimed king Rued, Valdis left for Elmenham to be married.[1] During the reception, both she and Oswald claimed loyalty to Eivor and the Raven Clan. If Eivor did not kill Rued at Burgh Castle, he will crash Valdis and Oswald's wedding, challenging the latter to a fight that Eivor can act as a champion for. [2]
Etymology
Valdis is an Icelandic name coming from the old Norse of 'valr' for 'the dead' and 'Valkyrie' while 'Dis' means 'Goddess'.[3]
