Upton Travers (1688 – unknown) was the head of the Assassin bureau in Nassau alongside his brother Vance Travers.
The two brothers' lives changed when a Chinese pirate named Jing Lang arrived in Nassau and Vance became smitten with her. She led them to a treasure map, of which the brothers split between themselves; however, Vance sought Upton's half for his own means. When Edward Kenway came by in search of a Templar key, Vance claimed that the smugglers in the area were being controlled by a Templar, when in reality they were being led by Upton. Once Kenway came close to assassinating Upton, the latter revealed his brother's treachery.
Asking Kenway to be his bodyguard and shadow him while Upton confronted his brother, the brothers then discussed the map while Kenway assassinated any thieves attempting to approach them. Vance attempted to convince Upton to use their map to find the treasure, to which Upton pointed out that Jing may not be suited for the domestic life, as well as voicing his suspicions that she may be a Templar.
After a heated argument between the two brothers, Upton later drowned his sorrows and became drunk, forcing Kenway to protect him until he became sober. By the next morning, once sober, Upton decided that Kenway should kill both his brother and Jing.
