Ezio approaches an Art Merchant in Florence.

Art Merchants are merchants who sell various Paintings and Treasure Maps. Back then, it was still considered as a raw business, similar to food merchants and blacksmiths.

Paintings

Each Painting increases Monteriggioni's value, with the higher the price, the higher the added value. Paintings sold by Art Merchants change depending on what region they are in. Once purchased, they can also be viewed at the art gallery on the 2nd floor of the Villa for some background information on the painting itself, and its artist. Art Merchants aren't as common as blacksmiths or doctors, but there is at least one situated in each location.

Trivia

  • 8 out of the 30 paintings that are available are painted by Leonardo da Vinci, Ezio's friend.
  • When you have purchased all treasure maps and paintings, Art Merchants claim that they will find some more paintings, although they never do.
  • In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, all of the paintings that Ezio can purchase are painted by the Italian Renaissance artist Raphael.
  • There is a typing mistake in the description of the painting "Resurrection of Christ."
