Théodrate of Troyes (868 – 886) was the wife of Count Odo of Paris.
In 886, Théodrate suffered a grave wound sustained during the Siege of Paris and was left in the Palais de la Cité's master bedroom to rest her injuries, with the priest Walter Du Sens meant to give her last rites. However, Walter was too drunk to so and unwittingly gave the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir access to the master bedroom. In her last breath, Théodrate gave Eivor the keys to war room where Odo was at before passing away.[1]
Behind the scenes
Théodrate is a historical character who appeared in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla's The Siege of Paris DLC.
Historically, unlike what the DLC depicted, Théodrate survived the siege and eventually went on to become Queen consort of France following her husband's election as King following the deposition of King Charles III in 888. She died in 903 around the age of 34 or 35.
