Altaïr pickpocketing a thug.

Thugs were civilians that carried throwing knives, and were one of the few types to not back down from a brawl if provoked.

They could be found in the major cities of Damascus, Acre, and Jerusalem, during the High Middle Ages.

Characteristics

Thugs were more burly and tough-looking than most civilians, and were most notable for carrying throwing knives, which were able to be pickpocketed. If they caught one while doing so, however, the thug - as well as any within the area - would proceed to fight the pickpocket.

Thugs would never flee from a fistfight, instead choosing to fight until they collapsed. If their opponent drew a blade, however, they would run off immediately.
