The Merchant was a virtual representation of one of Ratonhnhaké:ton's genetic memories, relived by Desmond Miles in 2012 through the Animus.
Description
Connor was told to find "The Merchant" in New York and beat him to participate in the Boston Brawlers Tournament.
Dialogue
- Merchant: Another one. Alright, let's get it over with, then.
Won't get far with me on my feet.
Try and get me down.
Standing toe-to-toe? This is easy.
Connor defeated his three sidekicks. He found throwing the Merchant, breaking his defense and downing him was the fastest way to hit him.
- Merchant: Oof! That smarts.
