The Heron Assassination was a virtual representation of one of Bayek's genetic memories, relieved by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.

Description

Bayek confronts his first target, Rudjek (known as The Heron) at the Saqqara Pyramid. By the appearance of the plump man’s lavish wardrobe, it seems he is wealthy and holds a high position in Egypt's hierarchy. However, by the swiftness of his execution, and his inability to defend himself against Bayek’s fueled rage, it’s also obvious that Rudjek was not prepared to cross paths with Bayek, paying the ultimate price for his transgressions. The reason for this first of many targeted assassinations is not yet known.

Dialogue

  • Rudjek: You are the Medjay from Siwa? I thought Medjays were supposed to protect the pharaoh?
  • Bayek: I am Medjay to no pharaoh. You see this?
  • Rudjek: I can read my own name, nek! We will find you. We will find you, in your sleep!

Rudjek threw a knife at Bayek, which he stopped with Rudjek's mask.

  • Bayek: Sleep? I never sleep. I just wait. In the shadows. And I will kill you all. Everyone who sniffed the air that day in Siwa.

Bayek thrusted the mask with knife into Rudjek's face, killing him.
