The Sudwella Monastery was a monastery in the north of Leicestershire, England. Prior to 873, the monastery was led by an abbess by the name of Editha, who eventually took her group nuns to flee the shire after King Burgred refused to surrender the kingdom to the Great Heathen Army.

Sometime in the 9th century, it was raided by Eivor and the Raven Clan.[1]
