Stowe was an Anglo-Saxon who served as the reeve of western Lunden during the 9th century.

Biography

A descendant from a Moroccan migrant,[1] Stowe was raised in the original Lundenwic settlement, where he was raised by a group of priests and taught the scriptures of Christ's apostles. In time, Stowe proved himself capable and was spotted by the city's Danish governor Tryggr, elected alongside Erke Bodilsson to serve as reeves.[2]

Stowe was acting as reeve outside the gates of Lunden when he met Eivor Varinsdottir, a viking that wished to treat with Tryggr and establish peaceful relationships between Lunden and Ravensthorpe, her newly established settlement. During a conversation between Stow and Eivor criminal thugs brazenly harassed the people and Stow himself, before a violent confrontation erupted. Having seen Eivor willing to help pacify the situation outside the gates, Stowe took her to the governor's mansion to meet Trygger.[2]

Stow and Erke were in a romantic relationship that they hid from the public.[3][4]

Behind the scenes

Stowe first appeared in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, where he is voiced by Andrew Shaver.

A month after release, Betty Robertson, script writer on Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, mentioned on Twitter that Stowe's grandfather migrated to England from Morocco.[1]
