This article is about Ragnar Lothbrok's siege in 845. For other uses, see the siege in 885–886 or the siege in 1429.

The Siege of Paris of 845 was the culmination of a Viking invasion of West Francia. The Viking forces were led by Ragnar Lothbrok.

Jarl Sten Stensson participated in the siege and fought under Ragnar, a fact he recalled to his two brothers Ulf and Björn some twenty years later.[1]

Legacy

Upon arriving in Francia in 885 to aid another siege of Paris, the jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan remembered that Ragnar had sacked the city for "a fortune in silver and sorrow".[2]
