Scotthoh Farm was a small farm North West of Burgh Castle in the Kingdom of East Anglia

History

Around 873 CE the Viking Eivor came across the small farmhouse that was under attack. Inside the dried up well behind the house was a key to the farm, which Eivor used to open up the house. Inside was a chest containing a Carbon Ingot and the Farmer's Diary on a nearby table that read:[1]

Every day, the Danes draw nearer. The others have fled to Northwic, but we - we shall stay. These are our homes. Smoke over the trees now. Thatch roofs burn so bright. Rued's men spare neither man nor woman, kith nor kin. We hear them laughing as they walk up the road. It is time, and may God have mercy on us all.
