San Gimignano is one of the many cities in Tuscany. It is characterized by tall towers that resemble skyscrapers which gave it the nickname of "Medieval Manhattan". It was essentially a medieval fortress with numerous watch towers and monasteries. The look of San Gimignano resembles that of the first game. It is described as the best place to do free running in Assassin's Creed II because of the similar heights of the buildings. San Gimignano contains one Assassin's Tomb.

Landmarks

Due to its many towers, the city itself is a landmark. Several buildings in and around San Gimignano are particularly significant.

Torre Grossa

Main article: Torre Grossa

This tower next to Santa Maria Assunta is one of San Gimignano's largest, and with good reason: it contains an Assassin Tomb.

Antico Teatro Romano

Main article: Antico Teatro Romano

This Etruscan relic, located outside the city walls, is an example of the Roman ruins that dotted Italy at the time. It is also where Jacopo de' Pazzi was murdered by Rodrigo Borgia and Emilio Barbarigo.
