Salt Lagoon

Salt Lagoon is an island in the southernmost part of the Bahamas, located in the Gibara region of the West Indies.

The island is surrounded by a sandy beach and consists of ferns, deer, palm trees, shrubs and small- to medium-sized rock formations. One of the palm trees on the island acts as a viewpoint.

History

Sometime in the early eighteenth century, the pirate Edward Kenway visited Salt Lagoon to find a buried treasure chest. He and Adéwalé would also meet there with pirates Edward Thatch and James Kidd to discuss the growing pirate republic in Nassau, and how to defend it.[1]
