Salt Lagoon is an island in the southernmost part of the Bahamas, located in the Gibara region of the West Indies.
The island is surrounded by a sandy beach and consists of ferns, deer, palm trees, shrubs and small- to medium-sized rock formations. One of the palm trees on the island acts as a viewpoint.
Sometime in the early eighteenth century, the pirate Edward Kenway visited Salt Lagoon to find a buried treasure chest. He and Adéwalé would also meet there with pirates Edward Thatch and James Kidd to discuss the growing pirate republic in Nassau, and how to defend it.
Trivia
- Though the location of the buried treasure chest found on the island is marked at coordinates 749, 625 on a treasure map, it is located at 750, 632 on the world map.
