The Ruins of Helike

The Ruins of Helike was a partially destroyed sanctuary located on the coast east of Patrai in Achaia, Greece.

During the Peloponnesian War, the site was occupied by the Followers of Ares, who had been kidnapping locals for sacrificial rituals. At some point between 431 and 422 BCE, the ruins were visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra, who freed the captives, eliminated the cultists, and claimed their valuables.[1]

Behind the scenes

In historical account, Helike was a polis which was submerged by an earthquake and tsunami in 373 BCE, well after the Peloponnesian War, making its ruined status in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey anachronistic.
