The Brothers-In-Arms were notorious for their battle tactics, which involved the two employing a funneling maneuver, quickly moving apart on both sides of an enemy ship in a v-shaped formation to ensure it was flanked between them. Their speed and vectors ensured that any attempt to escape by altering course laterally was futile. Once their target was trapped, they would hit it with devastating broadside volleys.
The pair became notorious for sailing in tandem and for their tactics in naval warfare. They could flank an enemy ship, surrounding her from both sides, and firing upon her with devastating power. If either ''Fearless'' or the ''Royal Sovereign'' was sunk, the other one would set herself alight and use her maneuverability to viciously ram the opposing ship.

==Tactics==
It’s suggested to attack both ships at the same time avoid fighting the other one turning completely aggressive. Use mortars to damage both ships while using Heavy Shot or Chain Shot if one of the ships gets too close to the ''[[Jackdaw]]''. If you choose to solely damage one of the ships first and fight the other “enraged” ship, fight it as if it were a slow ''[[El Impoluto]]''.

The Royal Sovereign together with HMS Fearless

The Royal Sovereign was one of five legendary ships, encountered by the pirate Edward Kenway in the Caribbean, during the 18th century. She was the sister ship of HMS Fearless; both were identical, save for the reversed coloring of their sails and hull. They could be found sailing beyond the Bahamas, on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
