Rothulf was an ealdorman of Oxenefordscire during the late 9th century who possibly reigned before Theodric, the husband of Eadwyn who reigned until his death in the early 870s.

During his reign, Rothulf, seeking to preserve imperial Roman heritage at the villa of Leah, consulted the thegns of his shire to rebuilt the old Roman ruins. His vision seemed to have to failed to come to fruition, as by the reign of the later ealdorman Theodric, the villa had been converted into a military garrison by the Mercian troops.[1]
