During the 3rd century, the Aleman general and member of the Liberalis Circulum, Accipiter, lead several attacks against the Roman Empire along the Rhine.[2] |
In the 870s to 880s, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir discovered the river after Vagn deciphered a clue located on the body of the River Erriff champion.
Eivor sailed to the monastery at Ferrières, killing the Frankish champion and claiming Ulfberht's Sword.[1] Following the death of the Frankish champion, the monastery hired a mercenary to act as a 'champion of the gods'.[3] Eivor would kill the mercenary at Ferrières, and claim Sir Gareth's Holy Sword.[4]
