The Princess was a slave ship owned by the Royal African Company. It was known to stop in Kingston every few months.
While docked at Príncipe in 1719, the Princess was pursued by the Jackdaw, whose captain - Edward Kenway - was in pursuit of Bartholomew Roberts. Upon his rescue, Roberts claimed the Princess as his own and used it for a number of months before claiming the larger Nosso Senhor da Compreensão as his own.
