The Princess was a slave ship owned by the Royal African Company in conjunction with the slaver Laurens Prins. It was known to stop in Kingston every few months.
While docked at Príncipe in 1719, the Princess was pursued by the Jackdaw, whose captain - Edward Kenway - was in pursuit of Bartholomew Roberts. However, the ship had been hijacked by the Templars Josiah Burgess and John Cockram, and Roberts went into hiding. Upon his rescue and the Templars' elimination, Roberts claimed the Princess as his own and used it for a number of months before claiming the larger Nosso Senhor da Compreensão as his own.
