Phobos was the personal horse steed given to the Spartan misthios Kassandra from her friend Markos in Kephallonia in 431 BCE.

• Phobos is a Greek word, Φόβος that means 'fear'. It was also the name of the personification of fear, son of Ares and Aphrodite, in Greek mythology.
