The Annuls of the Gate were a forbidden codex that recorded the names of all who passed into Aaru. It was heavily guarded in the Lodge of Names, where it sat upon the main altar.
In 38 BCE, while in Aaru, the Hidden One Bayek of Siwa met a man whose wife had failed to make it to the field of reeds. Certain that she had not failed Anubis' judgement, the man urged Bayek to look into the Annuls of the Gate for his wife's name. Bayek infiltrated the Lodge and read the texts, discovering that she had been admitted under a different name.[1]
