Ornate Mace

The Ornate Mace was a mace used in 5th century BCE. Decorated with gold, the mace was noted for being heavy, and believed to be durable.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Ornate Mace was obtained by the Spartan misthios Kassandra over the course of her travels throughout Greece.[1]

Behind the scenes

As gold is a relatively soft metal, weapons made out of it would actually be more susceptible to damage.
