- "The seal that opens the vault was lost two hundred years ago---it hasn't been opened since"
- ―Hervé Quemar to Arno Doiran, 18th century.[src]

The Nostradamus disc was a round, metallic seal consisting of three interlocking rings, each corresponding to the three cages and puzzles protecting Thomas de Carneillon's Robes.
Unfortunately, the seal that opened the vault was broken, before being lost and strewn around Paris, with the only clue to their whereabouts being Nostradamus's writings containing vague prophecies as to the locations of pieces.
The vault would remain closed until the French Revolution, when the Assassin Arno Dorian discovered the vault underneath the Café Théâtre. There, it was explained to him by the Master Assassin Hervé Quemar how the armor was given to those who did a great service for the Brotherhood and France, and how the seal to unlock the vault was broken up and lost. Arno then set out to solve the riddles which he did, later retriving the robes.
Apperance

The disc was made to be inserted into a plynth in Nostradamus vault. The plynth itself consisted of a stone pillar with a circular plate on top of it. An Assassin insignia made up the middle of the plate and was a golden color, it had a small diamond shaped hole in the middle for a hidden blade to be inserted into to activate its mechanism.
The central Nostradamus ring was shaped like a cresent moon hugging the assassin insignia.
The second ring was circular and had a golden sun on it.
the last ring had a smaller cresent moon also in gold.
All the rings had various geometric shapes and lines on them resembling the lines on an Orrery.
