The Louisiana Rebellion was an unsuccessful attempt by Creole and German settlers around New Orleans, Louisiana, to stop the handover of the French Louisiana territory. The handover to Spain in 1768 had been stipulated in the Treaty of Fontainebleau, and aimed to force the recently appointed Spanish governor of Louisiana, Antonio de Ulloa, to leave New Orleans and return to Spain.[1]

During this rebellion, the Assassin Aveline de Grandpré was present and played some part in the events.[2]
