Unbeknownst to Torres however Duncan Walpole had been killed by the pirate Edward Kenway, who arrived in Havanna impersonating Walpole inorder to deliver the maps and blood vial and claim the reward mentioned in a letter from Torres to Walpole Edward found on Walpole's body.
Oblivious to this Torres formally inducted 'Walpole', Rogers and Du Casse into the Templar Order before explaining his plans to locate and use the Observatory to bring the World Empires under Templar control.
